July 7: Summer BBQ

Geoff, Donna, and Chris are hosting a BBQ this summer: a joint event of the Jaguar Car Club of Victoria and the Old English Car Club. BBQ to start around 2:30/3 pm.

Nothing can beat a BBQ in a country setting, beautiful cars on the lush green, tree shade, music, chatting with friends, and good food.

JCCV will be prowling together to Cowichan Bay. It is suggested that JCCV members meet at the Shell gas station at Spencer/McCallum between 1:45 and 2:00 pm for a departure at 2 pm.

Please bring something for the BBQ for yourself and a dish to share in a potluck. Please also bring your own plates, cutlery and glasses and chosen beverages.

JCCV + OECC = more cars = more fun!

No need to confirm with Geoff but if you have a question, call 250-743-5463.

July 6: Become a Concours Judge

Judges Meeting July 6th 2019 Prospect Lake Community Hall, 5358 Sparton Rd, Victoria, BC V9E 2H5 – 10:00 am to when we finish (2 hours or so). All JCNA members are both welcome and encouraged to attend. For certified judges to maintain certification yearly attendance on training is compulsory. For those who last wrote the exam with me in 2016 (3 years ago) your certification expired this spring, so we can renew it here. Again all members are welcome, even if it’s only to learn something about the judging process, how to prepare your car, etc.

As a bonus (or not), at the end, we will discuss slalom techniques, car and tire handling characteristics, and I’ll do a short blackboard presentation on how to be fast!

Please RSVP: moledor@telus.net or click here: Terry

Jagcare III. The definitive guide to caring for your Jaguar.

By Gregory Andrachuk

Foreword

This is the third edition of Jagcare, which like the first, specifically refers to the Series I through III cars (1969-1992). Its purpose is to provide the owner of the XJ saloon with a handy guide to authenticity, and to the upkeep of these fine automobiles. Much of the information is applicable to any car, of course, and particularly to any Jaguar or Daimler. Owners of XJS models of the 1970s and 80’s will also find this booklet useful as these cars shared many components and characteristics with the XJ saloons. […]
